Florence E. Kapinsky

Florence E. Kapinsky, 86, Wausau, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Benedictine Living Community of Wausau. She was born March 25, 1928 in Crandon, WI, daughter of the late Glen and Surilda Smith (Faulkner). On August 20, 1949 she married Stephen Kapinsky. He preceded her in death in 2006. They celebrated over 56 years of marriage. Florence enjoyed fashion and her many years of clerking at West Park Fashions. She belonged to St. Anne Catholic Church since 1948 and was part of the founding membership. She had a great love for and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Sheila. Over the years, they spent many hours talking on the phone and shopping together. She loved her family very much. Her favorite times were spent with them. She was a very generous person and found joy in giving to others. She will be greatly missed. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Kapinsky, one daughter, Jamie Curley and two sons-in-law, Randy Weisenberger and Michael Curley. Survivors include one son, Dave (Jean) Kapinsky, Wausau; one granddaughter, Sheila (John) Quinette, Muskego, WI; three great grandchildren, Hailey, Austin and Mason, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express our gratitude and thanks to Benedictine Living Community for their excellent care and to her special friends, Wally and Mary Gelhar. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Fischer House of Wisconsin.
