Florence S. Haehlke

Florence S. Haehlke 91, Merrill, formerly Rib Falls, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill. She was born November 5, 1916 in Rib Falls, daughter of the late Reinhold and Malvina (Steidinger) Buchholz. On June 24, 1939 she married Ervin Haehlke at Rib Falls Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1988. Florence was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and gardening. Survivors include her son, Roderick (Joy) Haehlke Sr., Wausau; grandson, Roderick (Carolyn) Haehlke Jr., Marathon; two step-grandchildren; great grandchildren, Matthew and McKenna Haehlke, both at home; sister, Delma Jahnke, Wausau; brother, Davey Lee Buchholz, Rib Falls and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Ervin, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Mynard Jahnke. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, town of Hamburg. Deacon Sharon Gall will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 300 Walnut Street, Marathon and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
