Florence (Stencil Myszka) Carr
Florence Carr, 88, 210 Campus Drive, Wausau, walked into the arms of the Lord on July 4, 2008 at Our House Senior Living, Wausau, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Florence was born January 2, 1920, in Poniatowski, daughter of the late Anton and Rose (Urmanski) Stencil. At the age of 16 she married Clement Myszka, October 3, 1936 in Watersmeet, Michigan. They both worked at the Anton Stencil Logging Camp. In 1938 they moved to Edgar, WI and farmed together for 19 years. They moved several times in the Wausau area from 7th Avenue, to a hobby farm on Hwy. 29 and then to1st Avenue. Clement preceded her in death on November 6, 1969. She met Marcel Carr at a dance at the Rothschild Pavilion, dated for 16 years and married him on October 25, 1987 in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Wausau. They celebrated their 20th Anniversary, October 25, 2007. He survives.
Florence attended Holy Family Catholic School, Poniatowski, The Little Green School House, Poniatowski, and Marenisco Elementary School, Marenisco, Michigan. Florence enjoyed spending time with her devoted husband and soul mate, her stepchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She also enjoyed hunting, trout fishing, gambling at casinos, traveling throughout the United States, playing sheepshead and making large home cooked meals for all her visitors.
