Florence M. Brand

Florence M. Brand 99, formerly of 803 McIndoe St., Wausau, died Monday, January 5, 2004 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born January 11, 1904 in Wausau, daughter of the late Anthony and Jessie (Wright) Marks. In 1930, she married Dr. Fred Brand. He preceded her in death in September 1964. Florence was a graduate of Lawrence University and taught High School in Menominee. She was active member of the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau and their Parish Council of Catholic Women. Florence was a volunteer at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital and a member of the Catholic Woman's Club. Survivors include three sons, Rev. Fred Brand, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Tom (LaVetra) Brand, Phoenix and John (Mary Beth) Brand, Woodstock, Vermont; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2004 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Fred Brand, Rev. Stephen Gross and Rev. Fred Kulovits will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church. There will be a 7:00 p.m. parish vigil Thursday evening at the Sixth Street funeral home. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Angie Zoromski, Peggy Dremel and Josie Ringwelski, who provided loving care to Florence for the past several years.
