Florence G. Bembinster

Florence G. Bembinster 84, 909 So. 22nd Avenue, Wausau, died Monday September 3, 2001 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born March 3, 1917 in Arena, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Byron and Mabel (Porter) Billington. She married Edward Bembinster on June 18, 1938 in Wausau. He survives. The Bembinster's were the founders of the former Wausau Auto Auction. They were charter members of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau and for many years were active in various church functions and activities. Florence was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, whose family always came first. Survivors besides her husband Edward, include, six children, Greg Bembinster, Lamont, Ill., Gail Bembinster, Irvine, Calif., Linda (James) Anderle, Cape Coral, Fla., Mark Bembinster, Wausau, Brian Bembinster, Wausau, Penelope (Jeffrey) Rieger, Irvine, Calif., 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one sister, Amy Haswell, DeForest. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Bruce, one daughter-in-law, Rosetta Bembinster, six sisters and 1 brother. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday September 6, 2001 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. John Parr will preside. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau, is in charge of arrangments. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
