Faye B. Drehmel

Faye B. Drehmel 80, 1100 Lakeview Drive, Wausau, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at North Central Health Care Facilities, Wausau. She was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Wausau, daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Volkman) Dunbar. On March 20, 1943, she married Otto Drehmel in Wausau. He survives. After marriage, the Drehmels moved to Dodgeville and in 1955 moved back to Wausau. Faye was a stay-at-home mom until her children were in junior high school. She had been employed at the former Sunnyvale Infirmary as a nurses aide. Among her favorite things to do were fishing, word search, jigsaw puzzles, crafts, sewing, embroidery and crocheting. She also enjoyed bowling and shooting pool. Special to Faye was the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Senior Citizens Association and was a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, Otto Drehmel, Wausau; a son, John (Peggy) Drehmel, Wausau; a daughter, Darla (Bob) Weaver, Watertown, S.D.; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Doyen, Justine (Todd) DeVille, Kevin (Amy) Drehmel, Heather (Matt) Savage and Rochelle (Jeremy) Zilisch; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles, (Bev) Dunbar, Platteville; two sisters, Sally Benson, Princeton, Minn., and Lorraine (Dick) Knetter, Platteville; and a sister-in-law, Rose Dunbar, Platteville. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau. The Rev. Donald Dinsmore will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
