Evelyn "Evie" H. Schoenherr

Evelyn H. "Evie" Schoenherr, 91, Wausau, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Weston. Born October 27, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Schupmehl) Reichel, Evie was a 1942 graduate of Schurz High School, Chicago, and married in 1947. She moved to Wausau in 1965 where she worked as a secretary at Newman High School for 24 years and is remembered for her cheerfulness and for calling all the students "dolly". She was a remarkable and wonderful woman. Evie was never jealous or selfish. She was honest, thoughtful, personal, and loving, and everyone loved her for it. She always found a way to make you feel special. Survivors include her son, Michael (Carol) Schoenherr, Weston; three grandsons, Andy (Heather), Sun Prairie, Matt (Erin), Otautau, New Zealand and Eric (Aimee), Fitchburg; and three great-grandchildren, Henry, Hayden and Arthur. She was preceded in death by one sister, Edna French. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Msgr. Robert Hundt and Rev. Alan Burkhardt will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
