Evelyn E. Lawrence

Evelyn E. Lawrence 84, Wausau, died Friday, May 16, 2003 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau. She was born August 31, 1918 in the town of Kronenwetter, daughter of the late John and Alexia (Drake) Spatz. On July 30, 1938, she married John Lawrence at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1995. Evelyn was a folder and patcher for the Pied Piper Shoe Factory, Wausau for 32 years and then employed at the Connor Forest Industries until the time of her retirement. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed activities outdoors. Most special to her was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Ronald (Nancy) Lawrence, Land O' Lakes; two grandchildren, Scott (Cory) Lawrence, Waukesha and Kirsten (Richard) Lehman, Mosinee; three great grandchildren, Tristan, Paige and Amy; three sisters, Dolores (Ray) Sealy, Schofield, Genevieve Krueger and Mary Nienow both of Wausau; two brothers, Bernard (Lorraine) Spatz, Wausau and Sylvester Spatz, Cudahy. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Isabelle Glenetzke; four brothers, John, Joseph, Robert and Arnold Spatz. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steve Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
