Evelyn M. Kumerow
87, Wausau, died Tuesday November 13, 2001 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
She was born February 2, 1914 in Wausau, daughter of the late Max and Mary (Bychinski) Torzewski. On August 8, 1934 she married Harold Kumerow in Wausau. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1985.
Evelyn enjoyed traveling, crafts and playing cards and she took pleasure in planning and preparing memorable family celebrations. She was a member of the Rosary Confraternity and the Parish Council of Catholic Women at St. Michael Parish, did volunteer work for the Commission on Aging and was a member of the United Commercial Travelers.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet (Leonard) Johnson, Wausau, Marilyn (Robert) Groshek, Frisco, Tex., one son, Thomas Kumerow, New Berlin, grandchildren, Laura (Robert) Wood, Jeff (Linda) Groshek, Patrick (Tammy) Johnson, Sarah Johnson and Christopher & Mathew Kumerow, four great-grandchildren, Alea & Jena Groshek, Kelsey & Emily Johnson and one sister, Delores (Ned) Kane, Wausau. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Torzewski.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 5:30 p.m. Friday November 16, 2001 at St. Michael Catholic church, Wausau. The Very Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
