Evelyn M. Keckhaver
87, a former Wausau resident, died Sunday September 30, 2001 at the Berlin Memorial Hospital, Berlin, Wisconsin.
Evelyn was born October 10, 1913 in Carter, Wisconsin, daughter of the late William and Betty (Fancher) Arquette. She married Emil Keckhaver April 28, 1941 in Wausau. He preceded her in death April 24, 1982.
Evelyn was a wonderful homemaker and an avid reader. She had a great sense of humor and possessed a quick wit. Evelyn also loved flower gardens and completing difficult crossword puzzles.
Survivors include six daughters, Collette Daley-Lynch, Madison, Suzanne Stevens, Woodruff, Alice (Kerwin) Kemper and Marcella (James) Borgerson, all of Houston, Texas, Lynn (Byron) Schmidt, West Jordan, Utah and Bonnie (Jim) Bell, Pensacola, Florida, three sons, Richard (Josephine) Arquette, Denver, Colorado, James Keckhaver, Wausau and William Keckhaver, Wautoma, 16 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mona (Phil) Douville, Rib Mountain and Jessie Motzko, Minneapolis, Minnesota, two sisters-in-law, Virginia Arquette, Buffalo, Minnesota and Sally Arquette, Portsmouth, Virginia, and one brother-in-law, Joe Ferro, Schenectady, New York.
Besides her husband, Emil Keckhaver, and her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by one son, Emil Keckhaver Jr., two sisters, Pauline and Melva, and four brothers, John, Howard, Louis and Kelly.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. James Primley will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
