Eugene "Shorty" Kremsreiter

Eugene "Shorty" Kremsreiter, 81, Wausau, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born February 14, 1935 in Athens, son of the late William and Margaret (Niewolny) Kremsreiter. On February 19, 1955, he married Betty Christiansen in Athens. She survives. Eugene was a veteran of the United States Marines. For 40 years, he worked as a machinist for Marathon Electric Motors in Wausau until his retirement. Among some of his favorite pastimes, Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking care of his immaculate lawn and gardening. He loved his two toy poodles, "Blackie" and his favorite "Brenda". Survivors include, his wife, Betty; five children, Lee (Jill), Cindy (Tom) Armitage, Vickie Poehnelt (friend, David), Ruby (Gerard) Wadzinski and Kelly (Amy); five grandchildren, Stacy (Tony) Flink, Dana Poehnelt, Dustin Wadzinski, Kody (Racquel) Kremsreiter and Katie (fiance' Kevin) Kremsreiter; four great-grandchildren, Chase, Riley, Renly, And Everly; five brothers, Willie (Darlene), Dennis (Rita), Ronald (Marlene), Raymond (Kathy) and Harlen (Lori); sisters, Alice Weiler, Shirley (Tom) Von Loh, Diane (Elroy) Dahl, Lola (Gary) Radloff, Judy Riemer, Mary Lou Kremsreiter and Bibs Kremsreiter; two step grandchildren, Marty and Beth; four step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Shane Kremsreiter and Shawn Dahlke; and one brother, Roger. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
