Eugene "Gene" Blaschka, 85, Wausau, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born April 13, 1930 in Wausau, son of the late Walter and Victoria (Royt) Blaschka. On April 18, 1953 he married Pauline Pasholk in Wausau. She survives.
Eugene owned and operated Gene's Auto Service for 32 years. He was an avid car collector and also enjoyed woodworking. In his younger years he played guitar in a country band, taught guitar lessons, and was proud that he had played with many famous people. He was especially proud that he had the chance to take a picture, have coffee, and spend time with Roy Rogers, a popular American singer and cowboy actor.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Blaschka; five children, Thomas (Marsha), Dennis (Mary), John, Alan (Betsy), and Paul (Kena); nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, one brother and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
A heartfelt thank you to his good friends who stood by him through his illness.
