Ethel M. Prieve

Ethel M. Prieve 89, formerly of Clark Avenue, Rothschild, died Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born February 3, 1916 in Wausau, daughter of the late Herman and Emma (Haagstrom) Erickson. On June 22, 1940, she married Earl Prieve in Rothschild. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1991. Ethel was a devoted homemaker to her family. She worked at Wausau Insurance Company and K-Mart, where she retired after many years of service. Among her many interests, she enjoyed music and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Rothschild Homemaker's Club and P.U.C.C. Women's Guild. Survivors include two children, Richard (Sharon) Prieve, Everson, Wash. and June (David) Stremer, Stevens Point; three grandchildren, Michael (Christine) Stremer, Appleton, Rebecca (Sean) Mahin, Milwaukee and Heidi (Kris) Kolodziej, Stevens Point; two great grandchildren, Tien & Nikayah Kolodziej; one sister, Lillian Kautza, Wausau; one sister-in-law, Doris Erickson, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ogden Erickson. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Peace United Church of Christ, Schofield. Rev. Jeff Wartgow will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Peace United Church of Christ, Schofield or Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
