Ethel Habeck

Ethel Habeck 83, Wausau, died Thursday, February 14, 2002 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. She was born August 30, 1918 in Wausau, daughter of the late Edwin and Isabella (Sicklinger) Graveen. On November 2, 1940, she married Ernest Habeck at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1993. Ethel was a Charter member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau, and throughout her life, her religion played a very important role. She was a homemaker and took special care of her family.She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will always be remembered as a gentle, kind and loving soul. Ethel also enjoyed owls and visiting with people. Survivors include 1 daughter, Phyllis (James) Lentz, Rhinelander; 2 grandsons, Mark Lentz and Kevin (Cynthia) Lentz all of Wausau; 2 great grandchildren, Sarah and McKinley; 1 sister, Evelyn Gassner, Wausau; 2 brothers, Earl (Arlene) Graveen and Don (Genevieve) Graveen all of Wausau; 4 sisters-in-law, Marie Graveen, Helen Graveen, Doris Graveen and Ann Graveen. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 son, David Habeck, a grandson, David Habeck Jr., 5 brothers, Gerald, Willard, LeRoy, Harvey Sr. and Ralph Graveen Sr. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau and again from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Tues. at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau.
