Ethel F. Goede

Ethel F. Goede, 94, Weston died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Weston. She was born March 7, 1921 in Wausau, daughter of the late Henry and Esther (Bremer) Schmidt. In 1936 Ethel married Clarence Goede in Wausau. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1964. Ethel was a homemaker and also was a cook for the hired hands on the family fur farm. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, playing cards, fishing and spending time at the cottage up north. Survivors include her children, Jeanette Bigsby, Wausau, Marlene (Adam) Siekierzynski, New London, Kathy Goede, Edgar and Darlene (John) Eberhardy, Kronenwetter, 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and one brother, Bernie (Ann) Schmidt, Wausau. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, David and Allen Goede and one granddaughter, Ann Eberhardy and her siblings, Wilbert, Clarence, Vernon and Raymond Schmidt and Ruth Ostrowski. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Pastor Tom Michalski will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
