Esther V. Thompson

Esther V. Thompson 83, Wausau, died Monday October 17, 2011 at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born January 9, 1928 in the town of Kronenwetter, daughter of the late John and Mary (Rog) Kwarciany. On November 6, 1953, she married Earl F. Thompson at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tomahawk. He preceded her in death October 9, 2001. Esther was a longtime, active member of the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Among her favorite things to do were gardening, especially flowers, knitting, crocheting and puzzles. Survivors include seven children, Kristine (Thomas) Tierney, Wausau, Kathleen (Bruce) Kleinschmidt, Montana, David (Lynn) Thompson, Wausau, Debra Thompson, Eau Claire, Karen (Donald) Bohr, Wausau, Dennis Thompson, Wausau, Ellen (John) Prahl, Wausau, 12 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Emily Skibinski, Chicago, Ill., three brothers, Leonard Kwarciany, Wausau, Louis Carter, Schofield, Chester (Margaret) Kwarciany, Wausau. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Walt and Leon and one sister, Sophie Glatczak. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday October 20, 2011 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Friends may call on Weds. From 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
