Esther A. Schmutzler
93, 3105 Highland Lane, Wausau, died Sunday, October 26, 2003 at Colonial Manor Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.
She was born on February 4, 1910 in the town of Hewitt, daughter of the late Otto and Anna (Feltis) Genrich. Esther was married to Fred Hollman. On October 15, 1962 she married Ervin Schmutzler in Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1988.
Esther was a dairy farmer for most of her life. She enjoyed gardening, outdoor activities, card playing, collecting maple syrup and cooking fish fries at Nutterville. Esther's greatest past time was to enjoy a game of bowling, even at the age of 92 she was still active on a bowling league.
Survivors include her children, Virginia "Ginger" Dennison, Wausau, Myron Hollman, Gerald (Bonnie) Hollman, Milton (Margie) Hollman, all of Wausau, Leonard (Barbara) Hollman, Aniwa, two foster daughters, Cindy (Don) Parmer, Mattoon, Kathy (Jim) Krueger, Wausau, 25 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Leona Genrich, Norrie.
Besides her husband Ervin, Esther was preceded in death by three grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2003 at Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Wausau. Rev. Gregory Michel will officiate. Burial will be in Mechanic's Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
