Esther C. Pozorski
86, Wausau, died Sunday March 7, 2010 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.
She was born April 12, 1923, in Hatley, daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Bikowski) Pestka. On February 18, 1939, she married Theodore Pozorski in Hatley. He preceded her in death August 9, 1990.
Esther had been employed as a banquest waitress at the former Holiday Inn, Wausau, and had also been employed at the former Marathon Rubber Plant and Marathon Battery Corp. She also enjoyed cleaning homes and painting. Among her favorite things to do were, bowling, visiting with relatives and polka dancing. Esther was a member of the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus and their St. Catherine's Council.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Siewert, Wausau and Debbie (Bob) Adams, Oro Valley, Ariz., four grandchildren, Linda (Rick) Hart, Athens, Jay Schalow, Tacoma, Wash., Fred (Ranae) Schalow, Mukwonago, Clint Siewert, Wausau, and four great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Schalow, brothers, Eddie, Pete, Felix and Leo Pestka, sisters, Rose Clore, Gertrude Jozwiak, Anna Ostrowski, Helen Ostrowski, Mary Jurgella and Lillian Hintz.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 13, 2010 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Gerald Pehler OFM Cap. Will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Huntington's Disease Association.
