Esther H. Paulson

Esther H. Paulson, 87, Wausau, died Monday, March 31, 2003, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. Esther was born May 21, 1915, in Athens, daughter of the late Michael and Elisza (Abitz) Mantik. She married Herbert Paulson on June 5, 1938 in Wausau. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1968. Esther was a homemaker and farmed with her husband, Herbert for many years. She also was a nurses aid and worked at Marathon Battery. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing the organ and baking. Her favorite memories would include playing games with her children and grandchildren and taking family vacations. Survivors include three daughters, Judy (Chuck) Dyas, Cambria, California, Sue Franklyn, Paradise, California, Jan "Jeanie" (Richard) Becker, Wausau; five sons, James (Lorelie) Paulson, Marathon, Larry (Nancie) Paulson, Appleton, Joel (Rachel) Paulson, Goodrich, Wendell (Cindy) Paulson, Oceanside, California, Jerrold Paulson, Goodrich; 34 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one brother, Enos (Evelyn) Mantik, Ripon. Besides her husband, Herbert, and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, John and Jeff Paulson; four brothers, Rueben, Fred, Edwin, infant Herbert; one sister, Evelyn. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Wausau. The Rev. Gary Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
