Esther E. Kurth

Esther E. Kurth, 80, Wausau, formerly of Mosinee, died Monday, June 9, 2014 at North Central Health Care Facility, Wausau. She was born May 1, 1934 in the township of Reid, daughter of the late August Sr. and Josephine (Habeck) Kurth. Esther was the 13th child to be born out of a family of 16 children. When Esther turned 13, her mother became paralyzed and Esther lovingly cared for her mother until she married at the age of 28. She was a longtime member of the Mosinee United Methodist Church. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed baking, flower gardening, needle point and word search puzzles. Survivors include, two children, Dale Nord, Rothschild and Linda Hendrickson, Appleton; one grandson, Larry Hendrickson, Merrill; 10 siblings, Edna Roble, Wisconsin Rapids, William Kurth, King, Wis., Orville (Donna) Kurth, Stevens Point, Orman Kurth, Birnamwood, Joan (Raymond) Wolfe, Neillsville, August Jr. (Patricia) Kurth, Casa Grande, AZ, Donald Kurth, Schofield, David (Elaine) Kurth, Afton, OK, Shirley Schneider, Anchorage, AK and Bonnie Strehlow, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Nord; an infant sister, Adeline Kurth; three sisters, Ruth Andreas, Erna Kersten and Alice McDonald; and one brother, Henry Kurth. Memorial services will be at Noon on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Mosinee United Methodist Church, Mosinee. Rev. M. Park Hunter will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Mosinee United Methodist Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the CNA's and the RN's on the Lakeview Heights Unit at North Central Health Care Facility for the outstanding care given to Esther during her stay.
