Ervin L. Werner 90, Wausau, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Wausau Manor Nursing Home. He was born June 4, 1918 in Marathon County, son of the late Frank and Ella (Kraegenbrink) Werner. On September 18, 1943, he married Frieda Rath in Edgar. She preceded him in death on August 31, 1988. Ervin farmed in the Athens area from 1949 to 1971, then moved to Wausau where he worked for the former Crestline Corp. until his retirement. Among his many interests, he enjoyed gardening and traveling all over the country with his wife, Frieda. Survivors include, one son, Rodney (Janet) Werner, Wausau; three grandchildren, Matthew and Ryan Werner, Wausau and Stacey Werner, Big Lake, Minn.; three great grandchildren, Drake, Natasha and Megan; and one brother, Hilbert (Marion) Werner, Edgar. Besides his parents and wife, Frieda, he was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Borchardt. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at First English Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Sarah Nehring will officiate. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
