Ervin J. Cichon
74, Marathon, died Sunday, March 13, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born December 17, 1930 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late Frank and Agnes (Socha) Cichon. On May 7, 1963, he married Clara Hemmrich in Pine City, Minn. She survives.
Ervin was a veteran of the US Navy and US Air Force. He was also a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Mar-Lin Post #10203, Hamburg and American Legion Alois Dreikosen Post #469, Marathon.
Besides working for Hartwig Manufacturing, Wausau and Menzner Lumber & Supply Company, Marathon for many years, Ervin drove cab for the Wausau Cab Company and then for Dunham Carrier Company, Wausau until the time of his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading.
Besides his wife, Clara Cichon, Marathon, survivors include one daughter, Robin Cichon, Mosinee; two sons, Todd (Vicky) Cichon, St. Croix Falls and Jeff Cichon, Marathon; one granddaughter, Bailey Cichon; one sister, Virginia (Charles) Schulz, Schnappsville; two brothers, David Cichon, Schnappsville and Alois (Joyce) Cichon, Waukesha.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Cichon.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon. Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Marathon where there will be full military honors conducted by Veteran of Foreign Wars, Mar-Lin Post #10203, Hamburg. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday where there will be a 7:00 p.m. military memorial service conducted by American Legion Alois Dreikosen Post #469, Marathon and again from 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Marathon Funeral Home.
