Ernest L. Suchon

Ernest L. "Ernie" Suchon, 86, Wausau died Friday, January 15, 2016 at his home. He was born January 12, 1930 in the town of Franzen, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Rogalla) Suchon. On May 26, 1951 he married Elaine Pagel at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Wausau. She preceded him in death on March 26, 2010. Ernie worked at Wausau Papers in Brokaw for more than 40 years. He and his wife Elaine also farmed in the town of Wausau for many years as well. Ernie enjoyed visiting friends and family members who were sick, either at their homes or at local nursing homes. He was a member of the town of Wausau Zoning Committee for many years. Ernie enjoyed traveling with Elaine after retirement and also loved watching Daniel Boone and old Westerns. He will be sadly missed by his family but they always can say this about him. "He gave it his all." Survivors include his three children, Neil (Cyndy) Suchon, Wausau, Annette (Bob Schweizer) Suchon, Weston and Diane (Randy) Rhyner, Wausau, seven grandchildren, Jesse (Kim) Suchon, Heidi (Dan) Heise, Gina (Ryan) Ramthun, Sara (Judd) Altenburg, Chad (Shannon) Rhyner, Amber and Tammi Rhyner, nine great grandchildren and one sister, Alice Gabor, Kronenwetter. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Witkowski. Funeral services will be held at Noon, Wednesday January 20, 2016 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, 7505 N. 33rd Street, town of Wausau. The Rev. Greg Laska will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
