Ernest W. Seefeldt

Ernest W. Seefeldt 87, Wausau died Thursday, October 10, 2002 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born May 6, 1915 in Wausau, son of the late Richard and Bertha (Polley) Seefeldt. On August 16, 1941, he married Marian Boser in Edgar. She preceded him death on November 8, 1964. Ernest was veteran of the US Army and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post #388, Wausau. Ernest worked for the former American Can Company until retiring 1977. He was the oldest resident of the town of Wausau and one of the first members & organizers of the Wausau Farmers Market. Among his favorite pastimes were farming and playing cards. He was also an avid deer hunter. Survivors include four daughters, Phyllis (Marvin) Podgorski, Wausau, Shirley (Arlowe) Erickson, Hatley, Gloria Seefeldt, Milwaukee and Karen (Daniel) Sharp, Milwaukee; three sons, Robert (Sandy) Seefeldt, Wausau, Dennis (Joni) Seefeldt, Wausau and Glenn (Lana) Seefeldt, Merrill; 27 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter; 4 brothers, four sisters. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday; October 14, 2002 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau. Rev. Stephen Gross will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau where full military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post #388, Wausau. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the 6th St. funeral home.
