Erna E. Mitchell

Erna E. Mitchell 89, Rib Mountain, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born March 5, 1917 in the town of Schley, daughter of the late Adolph and Hulda (Hefke) Kutzner. On November 29, 1941, she married Fred Mitchell in Chicago, Ill. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1971. Erna lived in Sturtevant for 25 years and worked for Acme Die Casting in Racine for 20 years. Among her many interests, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and being outdoors, feeding the birds. Survivors include, one son, David (Kate) Mitchell, Mosinee; four grandchildren, Jamie (Theresa) Mitchell, Eric (Kathy) Mitchell, Lisa (Bob) Karasek and Michael Mitchell; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Lydia Bude, Plum City, Wis.; one brother, Robert (Shirley) Kutzner, Florida; one daughter in law, Marianne Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Fred, she was preceded in death by one son, Frederick James Mitchell; and six siblings. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Kenneth Dix will officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the Sixth Street Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday 11:00 a.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park, Racine.
