Erna A. Buetow

Erna A. Buetow 86, Marathon, died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at her home. She was born July 10, 1917 in town of Stettin, daughter of the late Ludwig and Margaret (Hoeppner) Stahel. On July 8, 1939, she married Victor Buetow at Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Stettin. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1977. Erna was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, making quilts and tending to her flowers. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Joe) Fons, Wausau, Betty Niewolny, Edgar; two sons, Dale (Virginia) Buetow, Wausau, Thomas (Rita) Buetow, North Carolina; 12 grandchildren, Tina Seidl, Russell Fons, Travis Niewolny, Patrick Buetow, Jennifer Buetow, Michael Buetow, Jeannie Gregory, Kevin Gregory, Keith Dodd, Jackie Kasten, Kyle Tesch and Klayton Tesch; two sisters, Vera Casper, Brillion and Mildred Sirna, Cudahy. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2003 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon W. Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon and again from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church. There will be an 8:00 p.m. scripture service Friday evening at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon is in charge of arrangements.
