Eric J. Lindstrum, 61, of Wausau, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest on February 10, 2026. He was born on March 17, 1964, in Wausau, Wisconsin, to Mary Ann Lindstrum and the late Stephen Lindstrum. He grew up in Athens, Wisconsin, where he attended Athens High School and graduated in 1982. Eric married the love of his life, his wife, Karen Kelly, on April 27, 1991. They were best friends, partners in everything, and were always laughing together, creating a life filled with love and family.
Eric devoted 30 years of his career to Greenheck Fan Corporation, where he worked as a team lead and was known as one of the hardest working people his family and coworkers knew. He retired last year, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, steadiness, and quiet leadership.
Above all, Eric loved his family. He found joy in both the big milestones and the small, everyday moments spent together. He enjoyed watching football and basketball, impressively knowing every player. He loved golfing, especially the time he got a hole in one. He had a deep love for the outdoors as an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He even caught a shark in Puerto Vallarta. Eric loved to go to supper clubs and would often repeat the saying, “This is the best ____ I’ve ever had.” Years ago, he also cherished the time he spent coaching his young daughters in softball, creating memories that his family will always hold close. Eric was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. He was friendly to everyone, level headed in any situation, and known for a dry sense of humor that those closest to him cherished.
Eric is survived by his loving wife, Karen Lindstrum; his daughters, Kelsey (Brad) Borchardt and Alissa (Michael) Powell; and his beloved grandchildren, Bryson Borchardt and Brooklyn Borchardt. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Ann Lindstrum; his siblings, Kris (Chris) Barber and Sandi (Keith) Fierek; his sisters‑in‑law, Kim Kelly and Kathy Dobson; along with many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Lindstrum, and his father‑in‑law and mother-in-law, Donald and Nancy Kelly.
Eric’s family takes comfort in their faith, knowing that God loved him and that he is now in heaven.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 1:00 pm. until 5:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau.
