Dorothea was born December 18, 1911 in Brokaw, daughter of the late Fayette Boon and Emma (Herman) Case. She lived in Brokaw for 80 years before moving to Island Place in Wausau in 1991. In 2002 she moved to Bell Tower Residence in Merrill.

Active in many organizations, Dorothea was a charter member of the Brokaw Credit Union and the Wisconsin Valley Coin Club, a life member of the American Vecturists Society, and a member of Catholic Women's Club and AARP.
Dorothea enjoyed photography and was an avid collector. At one time she had a large collection of coins and transportation tokens. She also collected postcards, filling several albums with scenes from Brokaw and Wausau. Many of her postcards were featured in John Janke's book, Big Bull Falls, Postcard Scenes of Wausau, Wisconsin.
In her later years, Dorothea enjoyed making beautiful note cards from pressed pansies and other flowers she grew on her patio. She loved to give her creations away. Her many friends and family members also loved to receive the personalized Christmas ornaments she made for them each year.
Dorothea is survived by two brothers John (Gladys) Case, Merrill, and Joseph (Doris) Tomahawk, and one sister-in-law, Aurelia Case, Harvey, ND, 25 nieces and nephews, 56 grand nieces and nephews, and many great grand nieces and nephews.
