Elsie D. Lohr

Elsie Lohr, 87, 640 N. Ridge Road, Marathon died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born May 8, 1915 in Dane County daughter of the late Iver and Julia (Carlson) Hagen. On July 14, 1940, she married Larry Lohr at St. John Lutheran Church, Dane County. He survives. Elsie loved to spend time with her family and also enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, golfing and playing cards. For many years she was actively involved as a partner in the Lohr Furniture Store and Funeral Homes and later the Pine Valley Golf Course. Elsie was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church Mission Circle and their Ladies Aid. Besides her husband, Larry Lohr, Marathon,survivors include, two daughters, Jacklyn (Werner) Burkat, Green Bay, Linda (Jared) Redfield, Stevens Point, one son, Rick (Joyce) Lohr, Marathon, six grandchildren, Amy Burkat, Eric (Anya) Lohr, Tanya (Andy Kougl) Lohr, Christopher, Amanda and Jessica Redfield. One great grandson, Alexei Lohr and one sister Doris (Rev. Ralph) Hanusa, Oshkosh. Elsie was preceded in death by three brothers, Hobart, Glen and Donald Hagen. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 14, 2002 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon. The Rev. Jon W. Hadler will Officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 13, 2002 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a scripture service Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Elsie's name.
