Elsie V. Kempf Shnowske

Elsie V. Kempf Shnowske, 90, died Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Cedar Creek Manor, Kronenwetter.

She was born March 28, 1934, in Dancy, daughter of the late John and Regina (Kaczmarek) Weyer.  In 1950 she married Marvin Kempf at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau, and he preceded her in death in 1986.  In 1987 she married Roman Shnowske at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee, and he preceded her in death in 2007.

For 21 years Elsie worked at Connor Forest Industries.  She loved traveling, and saw much of the world including Europe, Japan, China, Canada, and Central America.  Several winters were spent in either Florida or Arizona and most the United States were visited in their RV.  She also enjoyed polka dancing and trips to the Casino.

Survivors include her children, Richard (Cheryl) Kempf, Susan Nemec, and David (Debra ) Kempf; daughter-in-law, Ruth Kempf; grandchildren, Rhonda Barta, Matthew (Amber) Kempf, Jason (Paula) Bombagi, Jenna (Josh) Bombagi Borelli, Chad (Ashley) Kempf, Kelly (Kristine) Kempf, Christopher Kempf, Candace (Craig) Johnson, and Corey (Kasey) Kempf; step-granddaughter, Dawn Nemec; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; loving partner, Richard Doucette, numerous other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, John Kempf, son-in-law, David Nemec and sister, Virginia Hollar.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2024, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau.  Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service all at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Cedar Creek Manor for the kind, compassionate care given to Elsie.
