Elsa I. Zurow
95, 3841 Carl Street, Wausau, died Monday March 24, 2003 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.
She was born August 29, 1907 in Germany, daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Wallschlaeger)Sandinger. She married Max Zurow in Chicago. He preceded her in death.
Elsa and Max farmed in the Colby area and later, Elsa had been employed as a cook at the former Sunnyvale Manor, then at the American Legion. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and trips with the Jerry Goetsch Band.
Survivors include two daughters, Maxine (Gary) Frahm, Wausau and Rosemarie (DeWayne) Graf, Wausau, 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Erna (John) Holzer, Park Ridge, Ill., a special sister, Herta Hadelar, Grays Lake, Ill., and special friends, Sophie and Bob.
Besides her husband, Max, she was preceded in death by three sons, Eugene, William and Guenther and a granddaughter, Debra.
Funeral services will be Noon Thursday March 27, 2003 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Bruce Lamont will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
