Elroy W. Staszak

Elroy W. Staszak, 65, Wausau died Wednesday February 14, 2018 at Tranquility Way, his home for the last seven years. Elroy was born December 19, 1952 to Arthur and Delores (Zietlow) Staszak, in Wausau. He enjoyed the many years he attended the EACH and ADS programs. He also liked playing with stuffed animals, watching action shows on television and watching his mother and caretakers cook. His favorite season was Christmas, especially the tree lights and the song, "The Little Drummer Boy". Although Elroy was unable to speak, feed himself, or walk, his various sounds and behaviors showed those who were close to him what he was feeling. Whenever someone came to visit him, his eyes would light up and he would smile at them. He will be dearly missed by his family, caretakers and housemates. Survivors include his father and mother, Arthur and Delores Staszak, Wausau; brother, Robert (Judy) Staszak, Wausau; sister, Carol (Clem) Jauquet, Eagan, MN; niece, Niki, and great-nephew, Caden, both of Somerset, WI. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Walter and Helen Staszak and Arthur and Adelia Zietlow. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday February 24, 2018 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth St., Wausau. Rev. Msgr. Mark Pierce will preside. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date.
