Elnora Beck
Elnora Gertrude Erna (Otto) Beck, 90, Wausau, died Sunday, September 10, 2006 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born March 11, 1916 in Wausau, daughter of the late Paul and Minna Otto. Elnora was baptized on April 23, 1916 and confirmed on March 24, 1929 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau.
She graduated from Wausau High School on June 1, 1933. On October 12, 1940, she married Raymond Beck in Wausau. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1987.
Prior to her marriage to Raymond, she worked at Marathon Electric, Wausau. Following her marriage, Elnora was a homemaker and farmed in the town of Easton.
Among her many interests, she enjoyed playing cards, dancing, cooking and baking. She was a member of the Badger Homemakers, Zion Ladies Aid and made quilts for World Relief and many quilted items for family and friends.
Survivors include, four children, Sandra (David) Sippl, Wisconsin Rapids, Roger (Carol) Beck, New Holstein, Charles (Phyllis) Beck, Aniwa and William (Susan) Beck, Wausau; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Marian Johnson, Wausau; two sisters-in-law, Pearl Otto, Wausau and Bertha Beck, Ringle; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Duerst; and two brothers, Arthur and Harvey Otto.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church, Aniwa. Rev. David Faulkner will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
