Ellen I. Gibbons

Ellen I. Gibbons 65, Wausau, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston, following complications with pneumonia. She was born July 13, 1943 in Wausau, daughter of Elaine (Damp) Clark, Wausau and the late Louis Clark. On September 1, 1962, she married Patrick Gibbons at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. He survives. Ellen worked at the former 29 Super grocery store, Wausau for many years. Among her many interests, she enjoyed fishing, spending time up north at their cottage in Rhinelander, and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include, her husband, Patrick Gibbons, Wausau; her mother, Elaine Clark, Wausau; three children, Michael (Anne Marie) Gibbons, Salt Lake City, Utah, Lori (Jeff) Ziegel, Wausau and Kay (Brian) Marks, Wisconsin Rapids; five grandchildren, Eric, Larissa, Brett, Rylee and Carter; one brother, Bruce (Pam) Clark, Yuma, Ariz.; and one cousin, Jan (Don) Doyle, Wausau. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
