Ella A. Stasiak, 100, formerly of Schofield, died Wednesday November 27, 2013, at the home of her daughter, in Clearwater, Florida.
She was born October 22, 1913, in Nienburg, Germany, daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Koehler) Jahn. On October 28, 1933, she married Franz O. Stasiak in Germany. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1983.
The Stasiaks moved to the United States in 1953 and Ella had been employed at the former St. Mary Hospital as a Dietary Aid. Among her favorite things to do were knitting and needlework. She remained very active and at age 96 was still doing her yard work, mowing, raking and flower gardening.
Survivors include three daughters, Annemarie Stelzer, Cecil; Sieglinde (Gordon) Gorski, Wausau; Elvira Wysocki, Clearwater, Fla.; two sons, Horst (Sandy) Stasiak, Wausau; Egon (Suzanne) Stasiak, Wausau, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Erich and Franz Koehler.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Walter Davidson will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
