Elizabeth T. Miller

March 28, 1923 — March 8, 2004

Elizabeth "Betty" T. Miller 80, 1102 S. 10th Street., Wausau, died Monday, March 8, 2004 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born March 28, 1923 in Colby, daughter of the late John and Veronika (Hurak) Kralcik. Betty was married to Benedict "Ben" J. Miller from 1947 until 1971. He preceded her in death in 1998. In addition to being a homemaker Betty worked at the former St. Mary's Hospital for 10 years and held various other jobs which included cleaning and child care for working parents. Special to her were flower gardening, needlework (knitting, crocheting, etc.) and taking in a game of bingo; but most of all she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Betty created lovely knit, crocheted and woven items, which were given to family and friends, but also sold at The Talent Shop. These included crocheted Christmas items, afghans and rag rugs. She didn't go far without taking her crocheting or knitting projects; however, her loom stayed at home. She volunteered her time for community service, providing transportation for those in need of rides to doctors, shopping or bingo, and also volunteered at her church and is remembered by some as the pie-lady at St. Mary's fish fries. She had a green thumb and her African violets and other plants decorated her home and her flower gardens brightened her yard. She worked her magic on plants and could save almost any in need of rescue. A prime source of entertainment was playing bingo, both locally and away, and she was a regular on out of town bingo trips. Survivors include her children, Marilyn (Jerald Halvorsen) Miller, Springfield, Virginia, Ronald (HaiYan) Miller, Tomahawk, Sandra (John) Eisenman, Wausau, Gerald (Debra) Miller, Wausau, Marsha (Robert) Armitage, Quincy, Illinois, Kathleen (Michael) Boulineau, Forest Lake, Minnesota, Robert (Ann) Miller, Fisher, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren, Jason Miller; Jennifer (Wood), Joshua and John Eisenman; Matthew, Daniel and Michael Armitage; Garrett, Andrea, Nicholas and Kyle Boulineau; and Mandy Carlson, two great grandchildren, Moira Eisenman and Parker Carlson, two brothers, Anton Kralcik, Abbotsford and Edward (Lorraine) Kralcik, Fenwood, and two sisters, Helen Potts, Wausau and Margaret Fasse, Milan.
