Elizabeth A. Foley

Elizabeth "Liz" A. Foley, 49, Wausau, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at her home. She was born January 18, 1966 in Milwaukee, daughter of Frances (VanSleet) Foley of Wausau and the late Judge John P. Foley. On January 13, 1989, she married Marc Foley in Rothschild. Liz was a 1984 graduate of D.C.Everest High School. She furthered her education, earning an Associate Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Marathon and most recently graduated with honors as a paralegal from Globe University. She was currently employed at Home Depot in Wausau. Liz loved the home she shared with Marc, and she was most happy when she was able to provide and care for the household. Marc was her best and favorite friend, and she always wanted to join in fun activities with him whether it was in the water or on the open road. Liz loved her pets, with a special place in her heart for Jade, her cat. Liz felt a strong connection to the natural world, spending hours gardening and cultivating a wide variety of herbs and vegetables. She pursued unique flavors and colors to enhance her tasty "earth-to-table" cooking. Liz found particular joy in baking, and the house was often filled with warm and sweet aromas. Liz developed a reputation as a Kitchen Wizard, creating fun and unique treats for parties and celebrations. She stayed active with crocheting projects, making sure there were always blankets for new babies. In recent years, she committed to pursuing advanced education to expand her skills in Accounting, Paralegal work and Business. Liz was an avid reader of Fantasy Science Fiction, and she kept her mind and spirit open to adventures with Marc and her friends that she might not have had on her own. Survivors include, her husband, Marc Foley, Wausau; one sister, Megan Foley, Minneapolis, Minn.; her mother, Frances Foley, Wausau; her grandmother, Valeria (VanSleet) Turnmire, Rothschild; and many other relatives and friends. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Durwood VanSleet, John Elmer Foley, Adaline Hampton Foley and Jay F. Turnmire. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.
