Elizabeth Czysty

Elizabeth Czysty 76, 413 N. 10th Avenue, Wausau, died Thursday May 29, 2003 at the home of her daughter. She was born September 17, 1927 in Poniatowski, daughter of the late Joseph and Kostanta (Zaleski) Omelian. On June 10, 1950 she married Paul Czysty at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. He preceded her in death December 7, 1987. Elizabeth was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and their Rosary Confraternity. She enjoyed traveling, reading and flower gardening. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (Elroy) Zastrow, Wausau, two grandchildren, Kelly Zastrow and Rod Zastrow, both of Wausau, two great-grandchildren, Samantha Bogle and Brandon Zastrow, four sisters, Genevieve "Jene" Test, Calumet City, Ill., Susan (Steve) Bergner, Mills Creek, Ind., Helen (Ken) DeWolf, Calumet City, Ill., and Stella Yorek, Hammond, Ind., and two sisters-in-law, Gertrude Palesh, Wausau and Hattie Palesh, Stockton, Calif. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Kruzan and Theresa Payne. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday June 2, 2003 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in Holy Angels Mausoleum, St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 5 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 - 10:45 a.m. all at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. There will be a parish vigil service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hospice House or the Tyler House.
