Eleanore Mary Ann Gauerke

Eleanore M. Gauerke, 92, Wausau, died Friday, November 19, 2004 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. She was born October 10, 1912 in Schofield, daughter of the late John and Martha (Gorski) Gorecki. On June 20, 1935, she was united in marriage to Alvin Gauerke in Winona, Minn. He preceded her in death. Among her many interests, she enjoyed fishing and planting flowers at her cottage in Land O Lakes, Wis., and spending time with her grandchildren. She worked in housekeeping at the former First American Bank, retiring after many years of service. Survivors include, two sons, Jim (Sue) Gauerke, Wausau, Gary Gauerke, Wausau; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Gauerke, Rib Mountain; three granddaughters, Beth (Pat) Gazda, Rib Mountain, Tory (John) Pingel, Neenah, Kim (Jody Goldbech) Gauerke, Eau Claire; one great-grandson, Zachery Gazda, Rib Mountain; one brother, Leonard Gorecki, Schofield; four sisters, Winifred Radant, Wausau, Leona Zell, Rothschild, Grace Omernik, Schofield, Jeanette Staszak, Schofield; two sisters-in-law, Irene McDonald, Wausau, Stella Gauerke, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; one son, Robert; one brother, Frank Gorecki; and two sisters, Angeline Sickler and Genevieve Green. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
