Eleanor Ruth Stasik

Eleanor R. Stasik, 75, 4411 Raybelle Drive, Schofield, died Sunday, April 7, 2002 at the Hospice House, Wausau. Eleanor was born April 30, 1926 in Lake, Michigan, daughter of the late Leo and Viola (Sherdy) Cashin. She married Arthur T. Stasik, September 14, 1944 in Midland, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 1973. Eleanor was a homemaker who enjoyed going to her grandchildren's baseball and hockey games, bowling and going to the casino with her family. Collecting elephants and her cat "Herby" were among her favorite things, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by three children; Marcia (Mark) Remondini, Schofield, Paul Stasik, Midland, MI., Sue ( Ken) Jenkins, Midland, MI.; seven grandchildren, Troy, Joshua, Jeremy, Corey, Dustin, Tarra and Dallas; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeremy, one step-great grandson, Alex; one brother, Gene (Bernice) Cashin, Midland, MI.; one sister, Joan (Erv) Vanhuekelom, Stanwood, MI. Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Walter "Brother" Cornell. The memorial service will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Hospice House, Wausau. God saw she was getting tired And a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around her And whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes We watched her suffer And saw her fade away, Although we loved her dearly We could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating Hard working hands to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
