Eleanor C. Schneck

Eleanor C. Schneck 82, 2309 Ross Ave., Schofield, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born September 17, 1922 in Fremont, daughter of the late Herman and Selma (Pagel) Wegner. On September 26, 1942, she married Melvin Schneck in Wausau. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1995. Eleanor was a homemaker and cared for many foster children. Among her many interests, she enjoyed baking and corresponding with shut-ins. Survivors include, three daughters, Sandra (Dennis) Gorecki, Green Bay, Susan (Gerald) Slagoski, Wausau and Sharon (John) Kramer, Wausau; one son, Jim (Ann) Schneck, Wausau; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one sister, Irene Verga, Tomahawk; one brother, Edward (Betty) Wegner, Mesa, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Melvin, she was preceded in death by one great granddaughter; her daughter-in-law, Sue; and two brothers, Harold and Clarence Wegner. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2005 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. William Metter will officiate. Family will greet friends Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
