Eleanor Rowell, 94, Wausau, died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Cedar Creek Manor in Kronenwetter, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born August 1, 1921 in Iola, Wisconsin, daughter of the late George and Edith (Norby) Knaup. On August 1, 1941, she married Glen Rowell in Tripoli, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on
March 9, 1975.
Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed the Birds in Art Exhibit, working as a security guard at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum and spending time at the casino with family and friends.
Survivors include, four children, David (Karen) Rowell, Franklin, Ohio, Janis (Dennis) Narlock, Mosinee, Phillip Rowell, Weston and Daniel (Jerry) Rowell, Bozeman, Montana; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Glen, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; two brothers, George and Clifford; and one sister, Nora.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Peace United Church of Christ, Schofield. Rev. Patti Steevens will officiate. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
