Eleanor Leitermann

Eleanor Leitermann 102, Marathon, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Marathon Assisted Living. She was born on June 13, 1909 in Wausau, daughter of the late Fred and Meta (Viergutz) Erdmann. On July 28, 1926, she married Elmer Leitermann in Marathon. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1978. Eleanor worked at Pauly Cheese for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Secular Franciscans. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed sewing clothes and making quilts. Survivors include, three children, Charlotte Seubert, Rita (Charles) Stieber and Allan (Marcy) Leitermann, all of Marathon; 17 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 28 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Elmer, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Paul Seubert; and 10 brothers and sisters. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier and Rev. Dan Crosby will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon is in charge of arrangements.
