Eleanor F. Kletzin, 100, Wausau, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Benedictine Manor in Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born November 30, 1913 in Wausau, daughter of the late John and Felecia (Kolpacki) Duzenski. On June 27, 1936, she married Eugene Kletzin at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1973.
Eleanor graduated from Wausau East High School in 1931. She worked for A. L. Kyrshak for three years, the Marathon Rubber Plant for eight years, and also at Woolworths. She was secretary and president of the former St. Theresa's Aid at St. Michael Catholic Church. Eleanor was a member of the National Society of Catholic Foresters, AARP, Senior Citizens, and the former KC Women's Club.
Among her favorite pastimes, she loved to travel, play cards, play bingo, and sewing. She also belonged to a knit and crochet group and sold many of her handcrafted items at the local Talent Shop.
Survivors include her cousin LeRoy Kolpacki and his wife Joan of Wausau, who devoted so much of their time to help and care for Eleanor, the family will forever be grateful for your hard work. Eleanor had lots of friends in the Wausau area, including Ruth and Dorothy, as well as many cousins. Her Washington state family includes, her nephew, Jack (Gwen) Duzenski of Bremerton; her niece by marriage, Linda (Bernard) Duzenski of Bremerton; her other niece by marriage, Linda (Donald) Duzenski; and many great nieces and nephews and their children.
Besides her parents and husband, Eugene, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter who died at birth on April 27, 1945; one brother, Lawrence Duzenski who died in April of 1974; and two nephews, Donald Duzenski who died in January of 2010 and Bernard Duzenski who died in November of 2011.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
The family would like to thank all the hospice and nursing home workers who took such great care of Eleanor these last seven months. A special thank you too, to all the other family and friends who worked behind the scenes to help Eleanor, your hard work has not gone unnoticed.
