Eleanor M. Augustine

Eleanor (Ellie) Mary (Boruch) Augustine, 95, of Wausau, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 10th 2026, surrounded by her family at Our House Memory Care under the care of Aspirus Hospice.

She was born July 2, 1931, in Wausau, WI to the late John and Agnes (Dobuiz) Boruch. Eleanor was united in marriage to Victor (Vic) Augustine on June 9th 1951. She loved spending time with her family.

Eleanor enjoyed making homemade bread and canning pickles for family and friends. She had a very strong faith and was an active member of St. Catherine’s Council at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons Donald (Beverly) Augustine, Marshfield WI and Kenneth (Lori) Augustine, Summerville, SC; daughters Susan (David) Mohelnitzky, Tomahawk WI and Karen (Jeffery) Davis, Lodi WI; daughter-in law, Jan Augustine and son-in-law Frank Lepisko.

Fifteen grandchildren: Chad and Dan Augustine, Karen Johnson and David Jr. Augustine, Angela Childs, Ryan, Dana and Sarah Olson, Erica Kirinovic and Lindsey Lepisko, Michelle Deyarmond, Matt Mohelnitzky, Austin, Michael and Elle Davis, sister Liz Legenza and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; sons, Charles Augustine and David Sr. Augustine; daughter, Lorraine (Raini) Lepisko; parents, John and Agnes; four brothers, eight sisters and special partner Ray Urmanski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 1104 South 9th Avenue, Wausau, WI 54401, with Fr. Woodrow Pace officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter.

Our mom will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but take comfort in knowing that she went home with the Lord. She will be remembered for her hard work and dedication to her family, and for all of the things she did to help them succeed in life.
