Elaine M. Steidinger

Elaine Mae Steidinger 82, Marathon, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Harbor House, Wausau. She was born May 8, 1928 in town of Maine, daughter of the late Arnold and Marie (Plautz) Schmieden. On November 12, 1949 she married Hilton Steidinger at St. John Lutheran Church in the town of Maine. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2004. Elaine farmed in the town of Stettin and enjoyed fishing with her husband. In her later years she baked pies at Rib River Ballroom. Survivors include a sister, Helen Kleinhelter Bauman, Indiana, a brother, Earl (Doris) Schmieden, Wausau; brother-in-law, Gene (Betty) Steidinger, Marathon, many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Hilton, she was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Klinger. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Marathon. The Rev. Jon W. Hadler will officiate. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Burial will be in Stettin Christian Cemetery, town of Stettin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon, Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Wausau, or the charity of your choice.
