Elaine R. Laffin

Elaine R. Laffin 78, Minocqua, a former Wausau resident, died Saturday August 4, 2007 at her home. She was born January 1, 1929 in Mosinee, daughter of the late Roy A. and Hazel (Hibler) Brod. On April 3, 1948, she married Elmer J. Laffin in Mosinee. He preceded her in death December 31, 2002. Elaine had been employed as an accountant at Rayburn Lighting Center and with the former Joe Driessen Accounting. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, a great cook, a travel enthusiast, and gardener. An avid Packers fan, Elaine also enjoyed playing cards. Spending time with her grandchildren was always special to her. Survivors include her children, Kathy (Steve Schleppegrell) Laffin, Rice Lake, Gordie (Mary) Laffin, Wausau, Joel (Michelle) Laffin, Minocqua and Beth (Terry) Lindemann, Woodruff, 7 grandchildren, Andrew, Erica, Charlie, Jenna, Jaime, Dustin & Cody and 7 great grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, Catherine, McCoy, Korben, Madelyn and Savannah. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Brod.. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Thursday August 9, 2007 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the church.
