Elaine G. Kellnhauser, 93, Wausau, died Saturday February 19, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born November 7, 1928, in Little Chute, daughter of the late Wilbert and Mary (Diedrich) DeBroux. On February 12, 1949, she married Henry “Kelly” Kellnhauser at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death November 16, 1995.
Elaine had been employed at NTC for 25 years as an Administrative Assistant. She enjoyed spirited conversations on politics and was very knowledgeable on the subject.
Elaine was a Charter Member of St. Anne Catholic Church, and her love of Jesus was a guiding light in her life. She loved the mission of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Christmas in July Charity. Spending time with family was a top priority for Elaine. The time spent up north swimming and pontooning at the cottage was special time for her. Elaine enjoyed reading, playing cards with friends and traveling. After being a mother and working for 25 years, she loved being at home.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Kellnhauser, Wausau, Tom (Daniele) Kellnhauser, Iola; two daughters, Susan Kellnhauser, Wausau, Kristen (Greg) Cemke, Rothschild; grandchildren, Christopher (Erin) Crawford and their six children, Lisa Cemke, Sara (Matt) Melk and their three children, Colton Kellnhauser, Auston Kellnhauser, Nick (Rachel) Klepps, Rachel Klepps; special friend to the family and caregiver, David Glodoski; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jeanette; siblings, Harold (Florence) DeBroux, Robert (Millie) DeBroux, Dolores (Jack) Baerenwald.
Visitation for the public will be held on Thursday February 24, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. A Private Funeral Mass and burial at Restlawn Memorial Park will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anne Parish, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Christmas in July Charity.
The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Unit at Aspirus Hospital for their compassion and over and above care for our mother and her family. They are truly Angels on earth.
