Edwina M. Garski On Friday January 20, 2012, the angels came to take mom to her heavenly home. She was born May 20, 1915, in Unity, daughter of the late John and Edna (Holmes) Oleson. She married Emil H. Garski at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death December 28, 1971. Edwina was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking. For many years she was a cook at the Loading Zone and also enjoyed bowling. She was a member of The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Survivors include eight children, Patricia (Kenneth) Kostroski, Rib Mountain, Sue (Phillip) Kern, Mosinee, Barbara Broome, Las Vegas, Jerome (Sue) Garski, Greenwood, Ind., Ronald (Diane) Garski, The Villages, Fla., Jane Naab, Ariz., Charles Garski, Wausau, Debra Glaser, Wausau, 34 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, one brother, Roy Oleson, Wausau, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Moeller and Diane Garski, one great grandson, Michael Plautz, two sisters, Marjorie Schultz and Beatrice Schmirler and three brothers, Whitney, Douglas and Donavon Oleson. A memorial mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thurday January 26, 2012 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. David Rybicki will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
