Edwin C. Buchkowski

Edwin C. Buchkowski 86, Hatley died Thursday, March 17, 2011 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Weston. He was born September 21, 1924 in the town of Reid, son of the late Walter and Helen (Rogalla) Buchkowski. For more than 65 years Edwin was the owner/operator of Buchkowski Lumber Co. in Hatley. In his younger years Edwin enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. He also loved dancing, listening to Polkas and playing the concertina. Survivors include two sisters, Ann (Edwin) Gorecki, Hatley and Marianne Spinozzi, Novato, California along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Buchkowski Jr. and one sister Angeline Jozwiak. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. The Rev. Alan Burkhardt will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Edwin's name.
